5 summer-friendly makeup products to add to your vanity

I believe most Indians tend to have a combination of oily or very oily skin type, which doesn’t let makeup stay in place for a very long time. Kajal smudges, concealers turn patchy, and makeup often feels heavy on the skin. So obviously the best way to look put together in summer is to switch to more lightweight options. It’s important to make sure that the base consists of pore-blurring products to give the face a more matte look. Also switch to lip tints in summer if you can’t go all matte but also feel uncomfortable wearing lip gloss, as it feels sticky and heavy.

We all have that universal experience of pulling out hair strands that get gettuck to the lip gloss, right? A good compact powder is going to be your best friend in summer, as dabbing it from time to time will help you keep your makeup looking just in place. Here are my favorite summer-friendly makeup products that are absolute gems.

  • Lakmé Unreal Blurfect Primer—This is a highly underrated product in the Indian makeup market. The primer has a very smooth texture and blurs all your pores in a second while brightening your face at the same time.

  • Dromen & Co Pink Blush Paper— It’s an on-the-go blush in a paper that also acts like a blotting paper, quickly absorbing the oil on your face while giving your cheeks a pinkish glow.

  • Plum Twist & Go Matte Crayon Lipstick— This is a very creamy matte lipstick that doesn’t make your lips feel dry or chapped and is a great option to complement an overall matte look. My personal recommendation would be the shade 125 Peach Year (a muted but deep peachy nude, which would look great in summer.

Rom&nd Juicy Lasting Tint— This is the perfect summer alternative for a thick lip gloss. It feels lightweight, smells fruity, and gives the perfect shine, and most importantly, it leaves a stain behind, so there’s no need to reapply it. My personal recommendation for summer is the shade #23 Nucadamia (a reddish brown that complements Indian skin tones beautifully).
