Meet Vivek Singh, he was born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan and is currently based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Standing 6 ft tall, he is a graduate in Marketing Honours and currently works as a model and event manager.
A polyglot, fluent in Hindi, English, Bengali and Punjabi, Vivek is passionate about dancing and acting. He has won the titles of Mr. Kolkata and Mr. Photogenic at a national contest, achievements that reflect his dedication and talent. His journey from the slums of Kolkata to the national stage has been marked by resilience and self-discovery. Losing his father at a young age was a life-altering challenge, yet it fuelled his determination to rise stronger each time. Today, Vivek aspires not only for personal success but to represent India on global platforms, inspiring countless others who dream of seizing life-changing opportunities.
Here's an exclusive interview with him.
Q. You are a national finalist for Mr. India Universe how do you feel about it?
Answer: Mr India Universe is indeed one of the eminent and distinguished platforms. Being a part of such a creditable organization sets a bench mark for me. I am ecstatic and definitely brimming with excitement. I am hopeful that this new journey will be a learning bridge for me.
Q. What strategy or approach did you follow while preparing?
Answer: Getting shortlisted for as a finalist for such a wonderful organization comes with its own set of responsibilities. Therefore, I have been working on myself to target self-improvement and betterment. My preparation majority involved me coming out of my comfort zone and tackling all the obstacles gracefully.
Q. Who or what has been your greatest support system throughout your journey?
Answer: I believe my greatest motivation and support system has been my mother. Every time things looked out of perspective, she motivated me to look at the bright side and stay afloat. She is a warrior and this is what she has engraved in me since ever I remember.
Q. What was the biggest challenge you faced during your journey and how did you overcome it?
Answer: The biggest challenge that I faced during the preparation of this journey was understanding the expectations of the organization from me as a contestant. However, I did take time to understand the existing trend of the event and then aligning myself with the requirements of the event by working on the skills where there is a room for improvement.
Q. Please take us through your off-camera life what other things keep you occupied in your everyday life?
Answer: Off-camera I lead a very grounded life. I usually keep myself busy with skill building hobbies. I have deep passion for learning and I always try to keep reading more about new discoveries and patterns of the world. I am fitness enthusiast so I try to promote fitness by helping people struggling with lifestyle limitations.
Q. What are the qualities that you believe sets you apart from the other candidates who are competing for the title this year?
Answer: I honestly feel all the competitors that have reached this level have an amazing skill set and I am not trying draw a comparison. However, I feel my polished skills like my communication capability, interpersonal skills, grooming skills, time management skills, and strong work ethics set me apart from the other candidates.
Q. What are your hobbies and area of interest?
Answer: I have always believed in building a set of hobbies which help me improve my horizon of learning. I have keen interest in watching documentaries, reading research papers online. I am also passionate about meditation and working out. I love learning more about nutrition and health.
