Tanya Sharma was crowned Miss Universe Uttar Pradesh 2025 at the grand finale of competition held on March 30, 2025 at the Centrum Hotel in Lucknow. She will now represent Uttar Pradesh at the national finals of India’s biggest beauty pageant – Miss Universe India to take place later this year.
Tanya holds a degree in English, French and Psychology and works as an actor and model. She is also a trained national level dancer and was also the president of her university’s dance society. In addition to that she is also a theatre artist and has also appeared in Bollywood movies as a child artist.
In this exclusive interview with the Pristine Magazine, she shares her journey to the crown of Miss Universe Uttar Pradesh and some insights on her preparations for the national finals of Miss Universe India 2025.
Q. Congratulations on being crowned Miss Universe Uttar Pradesh. How does it feel?
Tanya Sharma: I feel more grateful than ever. As a kid, I remember writing down my dream of becoming Miss Universe when my teacher asked about our goals. Looking back, I realize I have been manifesting this journey all along. Now, through this incredible platform, I am seeing my dreams come to life, and I couldn’t be more thankful. I’m also beyond excited to show my best self at nationals and make the most of this amazing opportunity.
Q. What was your reaction when they announced your name during the state pageant? What all emotions you felt?
Tanya Sharma:The anticipation had my heart racing and the moment I finally heard it, a wave of excitement, joy and pure ecstasy all at once hit me. I had replayed this moment in my mind a million times and to finally experience it in reality was truly surreal. My heart is so full, knowing that my dreams are turning into reality.
Q. You will represent Uttar Pradesh at the biggest beauty pageant in India – Miss Universe. Please share some insights how are you going to prepare for the event.
Tanya Sharma:First and foremost, it’s an absolute privilege to represent this wonderful state and I’m eagerly counting down the days until nationals. I couldn’t be more excited. For me, preparation is all about connecting with my inner self because I truly believe that authenticity is where the real beauty lies. When you show up as your most genuine self, everything else naturally falls into place. Of course, beyond that, I’m also having so much fun curating my wardrobe for the competition. And as much as it pains me to say it, I might have to take a little break from my favorite McDonald’s, just for a while(Laughs).
Q. Who or what has been your biggest support system in your journey to crown?
Tanya Sharma:For me, it has been my parents and my best friend. Believing in yourself is important but having people who believe in you so deeply, from their very core, is something truly special. Their unwavering support has been my greatest strength and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them as my backbone.
