Akshat Pardeshi from Maharashtra has been selected as one of the national finalists for the 2026 Mr. India Universe competition. The national finale of the competition is scheduled to take place later this year. At the culmination of the event, the new Mr. India Universe winner will be chosen.
Akshat Pardeshi is a management professional, engineer and aspiring model. Born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and originally from Igatpuri in Maharashtra's Nashik district, he is currently based in Delhi. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Amity University Noida and currently works as a Cold Chain Executive at Mondelez India, formerly Cadbury. Fluent in English and Hindi, with working knowledge of German (A1 level), he has developed a diverse range of skills spanning people management, robotics, violin, football, camping, cooking, hiking, and crochet. A passionate innovator with a keen interest in research and development, he served as the Founding President of the Amity Drone Research Center and, under his leadership, secured the Second Runner-Up position at Techkriti, IIT Kanpur, in the Drone Race and Hovermania competitions. Alongside his engineering career, he maintains a disciplined lifestyle through fitness, dedicating several hours each day to training while pursuing interests in football, barbecue cooking, hiking, and technology.
Akshat's journey has been shaped by resilience in the face of repeated adversity. His childhood was marked by financial hardship after his family's home in Igatpuri was demolished during a highway expansion project in 2006, forcing the family into instability and separation. Witnessing his parents struggle to rebuild their lives while learning the value of sacrifice and responsibility from an early age profoundly influenced his outlook. Following the family's move to Delhi in 2010, he faced bullying and social stereotyping because of his economic background, experiences that initially affected his confidence before ultimately motivating him to redefine his self-worth through education, leadership, and perseverance. His life was further tested by a devastating house fire in 2019 that destroyed his family's stability, followed by a traumatic accident in 2020 in which he witnessed a school janitor lose his life despite desperate rescue attempts, an event that fundamentally changed his perspective on the fragility and value of life. During the same period, two severe accidents in 2020 and 2021 resulted in repeated fractures to his right forearm and wrist, forcing him to give up opportunities to pursue undergraduate studies at the Technical University of Munich in Germany and to compete at the national level in football. Rather than allowing these setbacks to define him, he redirected his ambitions towards engineering, leadership, and professional growth, transforming disappointment into determination. Today, he continues to build a promising corporate career while pursuing the platform of Mr. India Universe with the belief that true success is defined not by the obstacles one encounters, but by the resilience, character, and purpose with which one chooses to move forward. Guided by the dream of making his family and country proud, he aspires to reach the highest levels of corporate leadership while inspiring others to believe that perseverance, adaptability, and integrity can turn life's greatest challenges into its greatest strengths.
Mr. India Universe is a national competition for men in India. It is organised by Glamanand Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the Indian franchise holder of the globally renowned Miss Universe competition. The event is spearheaded by its founder and chairman, Nikhil Anand, and serves as a platform for aspiring male models and personalities from across the country. Following a nationwide audition process, some of India's most talented and promising contestants have been selected to compete in this year's national finale. Before the grand finale, the finalists will undergo an intensive series of grooming and training sessions designed to enhance their confidence, communication skills, personality and stage presence. The contestants will arrive at the finale venue, where they will participate in a schedule of official photoshoots, pre-finale activities, rehearsals and a range of preliminary events leading up to the grand finale. At the culmination of the competition, the reigning Mr. India Universe, Bishan Madappa from Karnataka, will ceremonially relinquish his title and award his successor.
