Meet Kumari Nikita, the national finalist of Miss Universe India 2026

Kumari Nikita has been chosen as one of the national finalists for the biggest beauty pageant in the country – Miss Universe India 2026, scheduled to take place on August 23, 2026 in Jaipur. She appeared for the final auditions of the 2026 Miss Universe India competition held on June 19, 2026 in New Delhi and made her way to the national finals.

Kumari Nikita is a model with a background in civil engineering. Born in Dhanbad and brought up in Bokaro, she is currently based in Ranchi. She holds a B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering and has a keen interest in creative pursuits, including dancing, mimicry and painting. Standing at 5 feet 6 inches, with brown eyes and brown hair, she brings together an interest in the creative arts and an academic background in engineering.

One of the defining experiences in Nikita’s life came when she moved away from her family during her eleventh standard. Adjusting to a new environment without friends or a familiar support system proved difficult, and she eventually failed the year. Although the experience was challenging, it became an important turning point in her life. It taught her the value of self-reliance and helped her understand that personal growth often begins when one learns to face difficult circumstances independently. Rather than allowing the setback to define her, she chose to learn from it and emerge stronger. The experience shaped her outlook on life and strengthened her belief in her own ability to overcome challenges.

Fluent in English and Hindi, Nikita continues to explore her interests while building her journey as a model. Her story reflects the importance of resilience, self-belief and the willingness to move forward, even when circumstances do not unfold as expected.

The competition – Miss Universe India, is owned by one of the biggest beauty pageant organizations in the world – the Glamanand Entertainment Pvt Ltd (popularly known as the Glamanand Group). The organization was established by its founder and president, Nikhil Anand in the year 2013 and gradually it became one of the leading beauty pageant producers in the world. At the conclusion of this year’s Miss Universe India competition, the reigning titleholder, Manika Vishwakarma from Rajasthan will crown her successor, who would later go onto represent India at the prestigious Miss Universe 2026 competition, scheduled to happen by end of this year in Puerto Rico.
