In a historic first, a Sri Lankan father is set to represent the nation at the prestigious Manhunt International competition. Piyumal Sithum, an accomplished model with over 11 years of experience in the fashion industry, will represent Sri Lanka at the upcoming global event, scheduled to take place from June 1 to June 10, 2025, in Thailand. Earlier this year, Piyumal was officially announced as Sri Lanka’s delegate for the competition during a special ceremony held at the Lighthouse Gallery in Colombo. The event was graced by the presence of Rosko Dickinson, President of Manhunt International, who travelled from Australia to attend the occasion and extend his support.

The special ceremony was organised by Arjun Senanayake, the National Director of Manhunt Sri Lanka. The event was also honoured by the presence of Vijitha Herath, Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, who attended as the guest of honour. Adding to the significance of the occasion, former Manhunt Sri Lanka titleholders were also in attendance, lending their support and making the celebration even more memorable.

In addition to being a model, Piyumal is also a social media influencer, public speaker and fitness expert. He expressed his excitement and gratitude upon being chosen as Sri Lanka’s representative at this year’s Manhunt International competition. Piyumal shared that this opportunity allows him to showcase Sri Lanka’s rich culture and diverse talent on a global platform. He also highlighted the significance of being the first father to hold the Manhunt Sri Lanka title, noting that his journey could inspire others to chase their dreams. Reflecting on this milestone, he stated: "This is more than just a personal achievement; it is a chance to inspire others and prove that passion and dedication can break barriers. I am truly honoured to represent my country on the global stage."
