Rising electric vehicle (EV) star VinFast is booming towards a bold entry in the Indian market with the likes of its premium SUV, the VF7. With an investment of $500 expanding over five years, the company is setting up a state-of-the-art EV and battery manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. This move is not only a key expansion but also paved an important way for Make in India and India’s clean mobility goals.
Sculpted Sophistication Meets Future-Ready Tech
At first instance, the VF7 fascinates you with its unique, futuristic design. Made out by Italian design house Torino Design, the VF7 attracts attention with its sleek shape, signature LED lighting, and a bold V-shaped grill, which represents VinFast’s brand identity. Inside, the cabin is modest with a premium finish, having a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and a large touchscreen interface that controls most of the functions of the vehicle — a hallmark of modern EVs.
While the specs of the India version are still yet to be revealed , the global models of the vehicle feature single- and dual-motor configurations with an expected range of 400–500 km per charge. With a swift pickup, strong braking, and flexible driving modes , the VF7 aims to provide you with a powerful yet sustainable driving experience specially designed for Indian roads.
Sustainability at the Core
The upcoming Tamil Nadu facility is expected to include green manufacturing practices, including renewable energy use and efficient water management systems. The vertical integration of the company, from producing batteries to assembling vehicles, makes sure of solid quality control and reduced environmental impact.
By going for local production, VinFast not only reduces its carbon footprint but also aligns with India’s FAME II policy and government incentives for EV makers. This localization makes VF7 more price-competitive, making it a strong contender against some prominent domestic leaders like Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra.
Driving the ‘Make in India’ EV Revolution
VinFast's entry into the car market not only signals a new player in the market but also shows the growing appeal of EV manufacturing in India. As India pushes toward 30% EV penetration by 2030, global players like VinFast are not only contributing technology and investment but also speeding up the process towards cleaner transport. The VF7, with its mix of style, performance, and sustainability, could very well be the mark of the next generation of Indian mobility.
